To clean most pieces simply wipe with a damp cloth. Store in a dry, dust-free space, like a jewelry box, drawer, it’s original packaging, etc.
Like most jewelry, wear and tear is inevitable, and with time, it will develop new character and patina.  After all, the piece you're wearing may contain items as much as 100 years old!
